I am looking to attend an Appleseed shoot at the end of the month. They recommend taking both a .22 and a centerfire to this one. My understanding is that most of the shooting will be at 25 meters, preferably with a .22. The only .22 I have is a Rossi model 62 (similar to a winchester model 62). I intend to take this rifle and my Marlin XL7 30-06. I am really looking forward to learning to shoot effectively with a sling, and therefore would like to put a sling on my Rossi. I plan to place a swivel stud in the buttstock, but am trying to figure out what to do up front. I found some parts on Midway that look like they simply clamp onto the magazine tube. Anybody have experience with these? Any other recommendations?
