Can anyone provide some info on an Interarms Mark X Mauser-style action in .223? I am interested in twist rate and anything else you may know. It has a Monte-Carlo stock. It was purchased from a private party who had no knowledge of the gun. Thank you.

Interesting, I never saw a Mark X in .223, just the F.I. "Mini-Mauser" (which really isn't.)
You got pictures?
Edit to add: I found references to the "Mini-Mauser Mk X" and suspect that is what you have, even though it is different from the regular Mk X in almost all respects.

The whole family was later sold by Charles Daly and now Remington. Unfortunately, the Remington catalog and owner's manual "specifications" do not incude the twist rate.

You can determine the twist rate by running a tight patch down the barrel on a swivel handle cleaning rod. Make a mark on the rod and measure how far you have to push the rod for it to make a turn.

I have the same rifle. If it is a smooth barrell with no site mounts and has swivel shoulder strap points then it is the mini mauser mk x 223. There were not a lot of these made. They came in regular and heavy barrell. If it is unusually heavy you will know you have the heavy barrell model. What they call the custom varmint model will either have a scope and a black, or brown/yellow cammo composite stock. I do not know the specifications on twist rate and such because or models are not listed in the books. They are the yugoslavian models thought. I tried to find out if you could and where to get parts for them if needed but that has been a runaround so far. Its almost like when the factory there burnt down this gun dissapeared.

It is almost certain to be either 1/14 or 1/12.
1/14 was most common back then when Interarms was importing those rifles.

Heavy bullet .223 loads had not been thought of yet in the 1970's.
