The Foreign Academics brief consists of several foreign scholars who point out that the D.C. Gun Ban is actually worse than many European gun laws and that the right to self-defense is an internationally recognized right, even if not recognized in D.C.
As a bonus, THR was able to play a small but important part in the writing of this brief and several THR members made contributions to it. This brief is aimed at the Justices who place an emphasis on international law since they may be critical swing votes on either the nature of the right or the type of scrutiny applied.
