Is it a Franchi Alcione or Franchi Diamond?

Okay, odd question. Was at Dick's the other day and asked to see a Franchi Diamond o/u 12 gauge. Guy hands it to me, it says Diamond, but has the barrel selector on the trigger (not part of the safety) like the Alcione. I also noticed it did not have the "dished out" portion on the bottom of the receiver to accomodate the barrel assembly when it's open.

Again, it says it's a Diamond, but every other Diamond I've seen online has the safety mounted selector and "dished out" portion of the receiver like the Franchi Renaisance.

Any ideas from you Franchi experts out there? Is it possible that Franchi took an older Alcione action and labeled it as a Diamond? Would this be a good gun to pick up?

Just looked at the gun again, and it definitely says "Diamond" on the bottom of the receiver, but still perplexing.

The Diamonds are a Dicks exclusive. Franchi barely acknowledges that they even exist. Since there are not real specs as to what makes a Diamond different from the regular Franchis, I suspect if they ran out of a particular part they might just substitute a similar part from another model. So you might see some variation.
