Is it true (J frame & Taurus 85)?

The last time I tried it (about 10 years ago) you couldn't do it. S&W has a crosspin in the grip frame to orient the grips in the correct alignment. Taurus also has a crosspin, in a different place. As I recall, one is in the bottom middle of the grip frame (I think S&W) while the other is to the rear of the bottom of the gripframe. You can, of course, modify the grips by drilling another hole (in wood grips, I wouldn't try it for rubber), but make sure the hole is of the right size. Fit must be tight.
