Is the 6.8spc a dying cartridge?

I wanted an AR with a little more "OOMPH" to it and my choices were 7.62x39,6.8 SPC and 300 AAC. Of those 3 I picked the 300 and as to why the 7.62x39 doesn't work well in the AR platform. The 6.8 SPC bullet choice is somewhat limited and living in Ma I'm limited to 10 rd mags. The 300 uses standard AR mgas, can use bullet weights from 100-250 grs and brass can be made from 223 cases. If I ever move out of Ma I might give the 6.8 SPC a try.

The Rock River AR-10 in 308 worked perfectly with a one shot hit. I normally hunt with a Ruger #1 but I always start the season with the AR.
I bet it did, and the other rifle might have worked too, if YOU had hit.

The point was that an individual jumping on a proverbial bandwagon, executing poor marksmanship, and then moving on to a full power platform is not an indication of market conditions. The .308 is a mighty fine round, but I bet people have missed with it too when hunting, and the animal didn't fall over from fright.;)

One of these days I am going to end up with a #1 too.:D
