Is the GBI working to make Georgia's Firearm Licencse NICS compatible?

Recently the ATF ruled that Georgia's firearm license (what we call CCW here) was no longer an acceptable alternative to the NICS background check.

I have heard very little about this since the ruling. Is anything being done to restore NICS compatibility?

I don't even know who I should complain to about this.

I spoke with the chairman of the Gwinnett Republican party last Tuesday (he is also a NRA-ILA volunteer) about this and he mentioned he would look into it a little more and we could discuss it further tomorrow. I'll let you know tomorrow what he found out.

After speaking with my friend, it doesn't seem as though much fuss has been brought about this. Seeing the response here on the board, I think we maybe the only people pounding the pavement here. I'll be contacting my state rep again next week about this.

first I heard of this ruling. what about your C&R ? will you still need nics if you have an 03 FFL? I wonder. Mayby someone is running short of funds

I just heard about the ruling this week. I guess the NRA isn't interested, so the first stop for us is our state reps, right?
