Is the H&K 416 available to the public

Anyone know where to buy an H&K 416 in simi auto or know where to get a conversion kit to turn an AR into one ?

They're not available to lowly serfs like you and me, and the civilian HK416 (which is yet to be released) was purposely designed to be incompatible with the AR-15, so the HK gas-piston upper won't fit on an AR-15 lower.

$4400 just for the upper and bolt?? man,, I guess the latest gratest always cost out the nose. but thats what I was looking for. If I had that kind of budget in mind Ide sure snatch it up. I was hoping to find a conversion kit for less then 2k. I guess not gunna happen

The 416 is not available to the public except for the uppers, the 416 lower is FA and therefore in the Government's eyes illegal for us to own,

They are coming out with a Civilian version the MR556 which shockingly has a collapsible stock and can accept USGI mags.

I love H&K firearms. Im not happy being treated like an inmate calling the cellblock guard when I call for support or anything for that matter. those people there are just angry in every aspect. as far as CS goes H&K is the worst and Ide have to say RCBS is the best and friendliest. oh and Remington and Glock, they are very informative and friendly about things and that will somewhat sway my decision when I go to sellect a brand of a platform to buy. But quality is still #1 and thats the ONLY reason Ide buy H&K. NOT because of their Wheaties and P1$$ eating reps. lol. yall have a nice night. Im going to sleepytown.

If you really want an HK 416, since you can't get them, here's what you do: Buy an LMT gas piston upper, stamp an H and a K on the receiver, and then run ten $100 bills through a shredder, to get the price of the LMT up to that of the HK.

Early this year, H&K announced it would be releasing for sale to the US civilian market the MR556.

The H&K MR556, is the semi-auto only HK416 made for the civilian market in the USA.

Release date is expected to be Q4 2009. MSRP has not been determined.

The H&K MR556 upper and lower reciever will not be compatible with USGI spec'd AR15/M16 lower and upper recievers.
