Is the XD9sc too big for concealed carry???

The gun I've been carrying most this week and last has been my CZ-97B. The other guns I carry regularly are a fullzize USP 40 and a Sigma 9VE.

I have a Glock 27 that is soooo easy to carry, but it beats up my hand when I shoot it so i am usually ok with just switching my clothing around a bit so I can carry something I'm more effective with. Your belt and holster will make all the difference.

just get a g26.

Okay seriously, how does that answer the guy's question? Is the G26 easier to conceal than the XDSC? Why does there always have to be one guy who answers any question with "get a glock" even if it's completely unrelated? It's like when John Kerry was running 3 years ago and every answer to every question was, "well, he served in Vietnam."

...sorry.

Anyway, I think in general most people will find the size of the XDSC very well suited for cc. Many people conceal things much larger every day. My Cougar and M9 are bigger, and I have no trouble concealing those. I'm 5'11" and 169 lbs.

I'm 6'0, 175lbs., a bit on the "lean and lanky" side. I carry an XD-40 SC in a Don Hume IWB at the 4 o'clock position - when I wear a long jacket. I'm never comfortable carrying IWB with just a t-shirt, since my clothes are more fitted and any time I bend over or reach up, it would be pretty obvious. "Pocket carry" to me means 2 different things. Jacket pocket or pants pocket. Yes, you can carry an XD sc in a jacket pocket (it would feel a little heavy to me). Pants pocket carry with a thick blocky auto just doesn't work very well for me. (33" waist and fitted jeans). I have a S&W J frame for pants pocket carry.

I bought the XD-40 SC for my first CCW. I had never carried before. If I had been carrying a full-size Glock or a 1911 and then switched to the XD, it would have seemed great. But right away, I noticed it's thickness and weight. The XD SC is, in and of itself, a GREAT gun. One of my most accurate and reliable pistols. If you can find a comfortable way to conceal it and have it with you all the time, I would say there is no better choice when you want compact, reliable, aesthetically appealing, sufficient caliber, accuracy, and smooth operation. Don't buy a Kel-Tec if it doesn't feel right. (Don't buy any gun that doesn't feel right, but it's been my experience that a person should stay away from Kel-Tecs anyway). You'll be very happy with the XD. I am, and if I wore a long jacket all day every day, the XD sc would be with me at all times.

I carry the XD 9sc in a Gelco IWB holster. No issues, conceals well. I also like to carry my Rossi 2" revolver in my pocket.
