Is this a good combat combo?

welcome to thr. that is definetly a good combo and will be so in almost any situation that you might find yourself in. nice ar with lots of good mods. i am a huge fan of the eotech and have one on my ar as well. the glock you can't go wrong there, i would throw a light in there, get a nice safariland 6004 holster for the gun and the combo.

combat? going to the sandbox?!

loose the glock, get something in Single Action.
Double Action or "Safe Action" are for cops and people who have to draw a gun and maybe not fire
"Combat" would indicate a "kill ever mofo in the room" or a SHTF situation, where your sidearm is your last resort/
( my opinion. 1911 boys donr rable around me, glock boys dont get your pantys in a bunch)

woo woo there sir, even the most highspeed operators carry glocks in combat the sandbox, the guys that live in a shtf scenario. they have glocks and they choose them over the 1911's they are issued. why you ask, thier 1911s are caspian's and though they love em and they are accurate as hell, they have seen issues with them in the sandy conditions, where the glock has been the world over and had zero issues in thier hands.

i prefer the point and shot ability of glocks xd's m&p etc, just draw point and shoot that is all there is to it.

Well, I think that is a very practical combo for combat. As long as you know how to maintain and shoot your guns, and you have lots of magazines and ammo, you are at the limits of maximum effectiveness.

I usually like combinations that have some historical precedent. For example, if you had an M1 Submachine gun, you'd have to have a GI-style 1911. If you had a near-exact clone of an M4 (A2 grip, M4 stock, KAC rail, Matech BUIS) then aesthetically you would want to go with a Beretta 92FS.

But that's just my opinion, it doesn't matter.:)

Your glock and ar15 IS the combo of choice for three gun competition. I am not a real competitor so my S&W 915 and AK clone does fine for me although, sniff, I would like to have the same toys the other kids have. Nah I HATE the way Glocks feel in my hand. YMMV.

Add an 870 12 gauge and you are good to go. Some people may argue this, but inside a house and for busting locks, the 870 is the king.

Just my .02,
LeonCarr

Step one:
Unscrew the front sight of the AR.

Step two:
Holding the front sight in a vise, screw another gun onto the front sight.

:neener:

In combat, the best combination is quick reflexes and a steady head.

Past that, it's a wash.

The only thing that would concern me is the Thermold mags.

Those are not Thermolds, they are Magpul PMAG's. A new product and much better than Thermolds or Orlites. Do some research on them.

I agree. The mind is the weapon. The guns are tools.

Kinda hard to do that with my pick... M1 Garand.

I saw a lot of 1911s and Sigs. Other then the issue Berretta that was it for folks in uniform. Only Glocks I saw were with the for hire guys, and even then it wasn't a lot. I would say that the Sig was the #1 non-M9 I saw.

For combat, a pistol is a poor choice, no one was allowed out of the wire when I was there with just a pistol. Also unless you are wearing full body armor and jumping in and out of vehicles or are concerned about urban combat get a full size ar and dump the excess weight of the flashlight and add real optics.
Also look into the hk mags, they are the best out there, pricey but very nice.

my combat combo is what's between my ears, and what's deep down in my guts. everything else is just an accessory.

Over priced and overrated.

PMAG's will hold up to more abuse than HK mags, and they will do it for 1/3 the price. Oh, and they are lighter too.

Yup.

Get yourself a good belt and holster for the Glock. One stiff belt will provide carriage for the pistol and mag pouches, as well as other stuff. G.I. pistol belts work, but better can be had.

Get a sling for that rifle.

Are the irons sighted in on that rifle?

Get mags for the Glock. If you're working for a company that makes you provide your own gear, put your initials and a number (1-??) on each mag, pistol and rifle.

Got mag carriers for the Glock and AR?

Get another light, one that can be used independently of the AR.

Get two knives, a small utility and a serious one, four to six inches and fixed blade.
