.45Guy, give us a range report when you can....The one by Murphster's link looks a little rough with it's description, bet this would go for a lower offer with no one giving him the $189. I like the serrations on the trigger guard.

Mine has never bobbled!! Accuracy is pretty good. It accepts standard 1911 mags. Personally, I use Metalform.

I've been thinking about one of these pistols for a while, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that I read that they were compatable with most after market 1911 parts.
Anyone have a range report on one of these? Possibly in "Commander" length? I would like to hear a report of someone who put one of these through its paces , IDPA or such.

Well, my brother in law picked up a NIB series 80 Colt 1991 A1 for $525 at the same show, and everything was interchangeable. I put about 80 rounds of Winchester white box FMJ and 20 rounds of white box 230 grain JHP's through it this morning. It was tin can accurate at 20 yards. I was having way too much fun for any serious work. Maybe I'll head to the Shooter's shop this week and really put her through her paces.

Hey John! I figured I'd better get in here and post a pic of mine as well. I think I got a steal on this one.
Does it say made in Israel on the gun? I think some were marketed by them but made in the Philippines. As for being able to be shot on the sabbath, I suppose it could be as there was a lot of shooting going on for the Yom Kippur war and that is like their most holy day I think! I saw I think a M 5000 at a show once for $250 and I probably should have bought it.

The one w/the squared trigger guard was made in Israel.The others were made by SAM.People say the ones by sam are junk,but I know where there is a nib commander that'll put the fit to a lot of 1911's to shame,although it is a mix of 1911 1911a1 design.

They aren't made any more-or if they are they're not imported.The latter guns came in from Houston TX I think,these were the sam made models.You can check reviews of the sam made guns,supposedly cast frames,milled slides.I have only seen 1 Israel 1911,but 3-4 Phillipine ones.They did use the same model designation.Nib is probably gonna be next to impossible on one.

These are not "el cheapo" guns. They are inexpensive, however....and, they include many of the bells and whistles that most of us pay smiths mucho additional for. The one listed above on Gunbroker now...is a very good deal.
