well the only military style rifle I have is the 1892 lebel bertier , old yes !! but for reaching out and touching things !!! great! yes I would be limited on how much I could shoot due to ammo supplies but for sniping .. other than that FAL 0r a AR-10

I voted bolt-action rifle, but I only own two rifles now (.303 SMLE & .22lr Romanian.) If it came to a guerrela (sp.) war, I'd rely mostly on my .22's to "creatively acquire" other materials needed to fortify my position. My heavier weapons would be used more in a defensive means.

Never underestimate the utility of a good .22. Remember the High-Standard...:D

M1A,

If a bright light appears in Long Beach Harbor, every road and hotel to the north would be crushed. It might be nice to take game at some range. The .308 can do that. In a confontation, 20 rd mags could be the edge I'd need. Let's hope this remains fiction.

I have rifle's, from defilade, that will hang it in highest ranking local politician ear that sells out his (or her) country, from up to 1000yds everytime. They are all scoped and bolt action. Then it is enemy commanders' turns.

Hey wait! I'm a "JBT"! However, in the spirit of the conversation...
If we were faced with an occupying military force in our county,
(more likely UN than China I think) I would take a milspec AR
even though I believe the AK is a better choice without resupply
or spare parts. The advantages of the AR include the fact
that resupply would be possible with surplus magazines, ammo,
and parts from our adversaries and fallen allies. The flatter
trajectory also takes some of the guesswork out of those longer
shots. Also believe the 5.56 has better penetration against
the body armor we may face compared to the 7.62x39.

AK-47 Because that's what I shoot best at a wide variety of distances. Otherwise, it would be a scoped 308 bolt.

Put me down for a scoped, bolt-action rifle.

I would also want some concealable weapons and reversable clothing. Perhaps even fake mustaches, beards, and non-prescription glasses.

Am I alone or with friends? What do they have for arms? I'd pick whatever filled the biggest void. Almost everything I have is major. My M1 Carbine being the only minor. Bolt, Carbine, M1a, Garand, I have'em all.

US Rifle Cal .30 M-1

Popularly known as 'The Garand'

Then a well-tuned scoped bolt rifle, probably .308

I voted "Mil Spec AR", but mine's actually a pre-ban flat top shorty with a 14.5" fluted heavy barrel. I'd grab that, along with my USP45, Winchester Defender, Black K-Bar, Tactical Balaclavalavalala, Uber-assault half-finger gloves, and black Nomex jumpsuit...

Don't worry, I'm not paranoid... I use this stuff on the job as Mall Security :uhoh:
