So I finally have my 4 inch .357 Revolver. Please tell me a little about it.

It is a nickel plated, with a few tiny cosmetic injuries, but hardly shot, 586. It passes Jim March's test with flying colors.

Serial Number A AJ4 621. The Crane also says A2 22313,

It is very pretty.

I shot mine for the first time last week. Smooth DA, easy to stage the trigger. SA pull is amazing, it breaks with no takeup. 38's at a 50 yard gong were no problem. Made my glock feel like a piece of crap. ;)

It's funny how a decent revolver, just about any decent revolver, can make darn good guns feel inferior. There is just something about that big honking piece of steel and that revolving cylinder all working at the pull of a nicely staged double action trigger. Add a proper set of wood grips and by God it makes tactical tupperwear feel so, toy like.

I own, shoot well and like several pieces of tactical tupperwear so this is not coming from a revo snob.

AAF 9000 - ABL 3999 rolled out of the factory Oct 83-Dec 83.

Now tell us a little something about your nickeled 586. Like how does it shoot? I'd bet it shoots very well.

Grips? Goncalo Alves targets, rubber, magna, aftermarket?

A photo or two is always appreciated of those wonderful L-Frames.

I will try to get a picture up soon. My Camera is on the fritz.

I believe it has the original wooden with Gold S&W medallions grips.

I have not yet had the opportunity to shoot it, but am looking forward to its first trip to the range.

One thing, I think that this gun may not have been sent in for recall. I will have to have that done.

It is certainly nice to take a 24 year old home who is in excellent condition .

Way to go! I love my 586. Fun shooter, great looker, and won't wear out for another 100 years or so.

Nice looking 586s.

Halo's looks like an interesting 586-4. It has the new (dash 5) style thumbpiece and S&W branded monogrips (presumably with ambi thumbrests), but the older (dash 4) integral front sight and frame stop. Looks like it also has the dash 4 forged trigger and hammer (w/ firing pin).

The dash 4's are nice. First ones made, IIRC, with the new Tomkins-purchased CNC machinery. Last ones made with the forged trigger and hammer w/ attached firing pin.

That Scorpion's a good light, too.

Ran like a top.

Took it out today and ran various types of .357 and .38 through the gun.

It's exceptionally accurate and handles very nicely. I am very pleased with my purchase.
