I know there was another thread on this but it didnt turn into anything. I would like stories of actual situations.

Here is my story.

I was driving home from work at 3:30am after doing some maintenance. I turn down my road and see a person on the side of the road oposite my apartment dressed in dark clothing with his hood up. It wasnt cold and it was 3am so I immediately get a little suspicious. I pull into the parking lot, get out, lock up the car all while watching this person. As soon as I get the car locked he turns in my direction and picks up his pace signifigantly. I quickly move to put the car between me and this person and loudly say "I'm armed" while putting my hand onto my holstered weapon. The person quickly turns and starts running. I get into my apartment, call the cops, and wait up for a bit to make sure he didnt come back.

Thankfully I didnt have to use my weapon. I carry on a daily basis with the hope that I never ever have to use it.

Nice story, happing ending. It looks like your dilligence in watching your surrounding area and taking approprate action early pays off. I'm sure we all have a slightly different take on things but I might have circled the block while I called the police and let them confront the BG? I don't know wasn't there. In these situations sometimes following your gut and what feels right may be better than what looks good on paper? Any one else?

I guess I wasnt overly concerned about the BG until I got out of the car and he changed paths, crossing the street and coming into the parking lot. Until I got out of the car he was just a guy with a hooded sweat shirt out very early in the morning. No real reason to call the cops.
