New member. I currently own/shoot a Browning BuckMark Camper .22 , (inexpensive to shoot, used to hone my shooting skills) a Ruger Security Six .357 (my carry gun & home defense) & Stoeger Cougar 9MM. (love shooting 9MM & my backup to the Ruger) I enjoy all three of these handguns immensely & would not give up any one of them. I now want to add a "Full Sized Metal 9MM". After extensive research & touchy feeling just about every " Full Sized Metal" 9MM available I've pretty much boiled it down to these two;

BERETTA 92FS - Approx. $540
CZ 75B - Approx. $510

I shoot a lot, (about 600-700 rds a month) I don't reload & am concerned about ease of maintenance & longevity. Both are more accurate than I'll probably ever be. Neither one would be used for carry purposes, or critical for home defense. I really just enjoy shooting the 9MM format. I do not have unlimited funds so value is important. It will be purchased new & will be the base plain black entry version. I'm not into customizing or adding accessories & will leave either one the way it comes out of the box. Both feel great with the very slightest of an edge going to the Beretta. Using the above criteria which would you choose? I appreciate any & all comments. Thanks!

cz 75.... imo... if you are interested in the 92, save yourself some money and get a taurus.

Why would he want a glock? He's looking at two DA/SA metal framed pistols specifically. I love glocks, but they have nothing in common with CZs or berettas.

On to topic. Both are great guns, though I would give the edge to the beretta in overall fit/finish. As a target gun I would also give the beretta advantage. With good mags both guns are very reliable. 92s have proven to be solid weapons, if clunky for caliber. The same could be said for CZs, though They haven't been fielded to the extant of the beretta.

If you like the feel of the beretta better, go for it. Their actions feel like they run on ball bearings! Also, operation will be nearly the same as your Stoeger.

Get the Beretta. I own both and I have found that accessories such as Holsters, Mags and other items are easier to get for the Beretta.

There are accessories for the CZ but when you consider that the Beretta 92FS is the civilian equivalent the the US Military M9 there are many more choices for the Beretta.

I'd go with the 92 if concealed carry isn't an issue. The 92fs is one of my favorite guns to shoot, but man is that thing heavy! And long!

If you are going to carry, keep this in mind: the Beretta is 8.5" long 5.5" tall and weighs in at around 34 ozs empty! A fully loaded glock 17 weighs less (not plugging glock, just making a size comparison)!

Take all this with a grain of salt as I've never had the opportunity to shoot a CZ although they handle well.

neither are 1911's, save your money for a weapon instead of buying a gun now.

Yes weapon and gun are being used to describe a difference.

lol, j/k

CZ gets my vote. I've owned an FS.

I have a CZ 75 SP 01 Tactical and a 92fs. I like them both and would not get rid of either one. Try both of them and see which one fits you better. Good luck with your decision.

These two choices could not be more different. The CZ is smaller, better for average hands & easier to conceal. The 92 is lighter, but has a larger grip. The CZ is all steel, so shooting it in 9mm is virtually recoil free. Mine is dead-nutz accurate.

The 92 has an aluminum frame, some consider it top heavy & the design has a low-hold that has the bore significantly above the more in-line CZ. The CZ has a more natural frame mounted safety, the 92 has a horrid slide mounted safety that is difficult to sweep w/o altering shooting grip. IMO, the CZ is far more enjoyable to shoot. I own both, (well, mine is a Taurus 99) and it is a safe queen since the CZ arrived.

The only drawback I have experienced is the tiny slide grasping surface on the CZ due to it riding inside the frame rails. Other than that, I vote CZ all the way. As was mentioned, unless you have sasquatch hands, most find the CZ a wonder to hold from an ergo's standpoint.

I'm a big CZ fan but BOTH are excellent guns... Kinda depends on which 'feels' better in your hand and which shoots better for YOU!
The hand-fift on the CZ is 'perfect' for me... and the 75B is a 'dead-accurate' tack-driver... Regarding looks (which is an INDIVIDUAL thing), never liked the looks of the Beretta, where as the 75B is a sleek-sexy animal!
You really won't go wrong with either... but I'd go CZ-75B in a second!

Beretta 92 if your hands can accomodate the grip. My favorite pistol ever, even if it's not in my favorite caliber so that's saying something.

Arroyo... Get a grip on your problem. I had 12 at one time and now I'm cured... I'm down to SIX... which seems to be the 'magic number'!

I own both and I have found that accessories such as Holsters, Mags and other items are easier to get for the Beretta.
HBE Leather does a mighty fine job on the CZ holsters.

I had a Taurus 92(okay, I know not quite a Beretta) and now have a CZ75B. The Taurus was a little big for a 9mm. The CZ is a better fit for me and more accurate than the Taurus ever was. Both were reliable.
