I've been talking to my friend about getting a 10/22 and hoping my son would take the hint and give me one that I made for him years ago but he no longer shoots. He didn't take the hint so for Christmas my buddy gave me this 10/22 with 8 X 34 Simmon's AO Scope and Clark 18 inch barrel. It's all mounted on a Hogue Over Molded stock.

The only thing it really needed was 4 more magazines so I ordered them from Midway. I also ordered a BX trigger assembly. The trigger is currently 6.5 pounds and I think that that is too much. Hunting through my older gunsmithing supplies I found an old trigger and tested it. Set at 3 pounds 13 ounces it would be a good candidate for a swap so today I took it apart and polished all the edges with my Arkansas stone. I brought the trigger down to a nice 3 pounds 4 ounces and am going to leave it like that.

The BX trigger advertises 2.5 - 2.75 pounds and I want to test to see if I can tell the difference. I'll be shooting Steel Challenge with it primarily so, next thing I'll do is replace the Simmons with a C-More Railway red dot scope..

Since this gun was a gift from a very special friend I won't ever sell it. I'll bequeath it to his daughter when I die.
