It's not just ammo ...

It is not just demand driving the low supply, but also supply bottlenecks. Depending on the state, manufacturing isn't allowed to be at full capacity due to social distancing rules not allowing full staff. Also the issue of foreign components being hard to get from similar restrictions, and some facilities being considered "non-essential".

What we are seeing today is pretty much what we saw following Sandy Hook. Not just ammunition and reloading components are affected. This shortage is the perfect storm in every sense. There was COVID and then toss in the new political climate. When this series of events came together we knew what was happening and happening all over again. "It's like déjà vu all over again." thank you Yogi Berra. Had the political climate not changed we could have expected a return to normal but personally I am not sure now. What is being manufactured and making it to store shelves is quickly gone. The best those needing anything can do is constantly keep checking.
