Saxon,
YOU'RE MY HERO!!!!!
(btw, I
AM available for adoption as well - you never know when a good machinist can come in handy - like action work on revolvers, etc...!)
Georgia, 2 things - I can't really understand the 1911 thing you were talking about. I
hate 1911s as well, becuz' when I pick them up I can't seem to pry them out of my hand!!! Bought a NIB Gold Cup from a retiring FFL back in the Clinton years, and is still 1 of my favorites, next to my Ithaca 1911 that my father carried in Korea, of course
When I bought the GC, my only regret is that the fellow had a matching 10mm Delta Elite, and I couldn't have them both:banghead: It only took me about 6 months to pay off the GC, and another 6 to get my wife over it!
But I'm getting better! (at least my therapist thinks so! I told her, it's only a
little fetish!
) I actually picked up a RIA tactical about 2 months ago, and didn't buy it! I did have the shakes for about 2 hrs tho... the saleman only had to whack me on the back of the hand 3x with an old shotgun barrel to get me to let loose that day
But, what I do understand, is the GP100! They're great guns! I traded a S&W 18-3 for my 1st about 15 yrs ago. Slicked up the action, installed Wolff springs - she was a great shooter. Then traded it on an M1A:banghead: Sound familiar? Well, I'm on my 2nd GP100 now, and
she ain't goin' nowhere. She doesn't get shot as much these days, but if I ever need just 1 gun, that's the 1 I'm gonna grab. Stone cold reliable, accurate, and as deadly as I need her to be.
And what's kinda funny is that I've been looking for an SP101 in .357 for a few weeks now.... mebbe we were separated at birth? The problem is, I almost need to sell/trade something else to get 1, but I can't seem to go thru with it! Thought I had a rifle traded 2x for an SP101, and both times they backed off....
Chickens...
The only problem there is that I can't decide on the 2-1/4" or 3" barrel, so I'll probably end up with both....someday....just don't tell my wife!
