These msrp at 8 something.

If weirdness were a plus, but it had to be a weirdness that shoots well, then would this be a interesting gun to you?

Is the 1911 that it’s built on, a decent-quality 1911?

Add in a regular barrel and some way to get the stock on and off, and how is this not the world’s best PCC?

or to put it another way, when you buy your first 1911, why on Earth would you not get this one ?
In my opinion, for what it's worth, you'd be much better off with one of these:

Numerich sold the stock/mainspring housing and barrel way back in the last century as Gordon mentioned and I think earlier than the 1980's

I heard back then that they were unreliable because of all that extra barrel. I did wonder if one made something like a rocket nozzle at the muzzle to INCREASE recoil if it might work better. Also considered a light reoil spring as for powder puff 185grain target loads might not have helped and maybe a lighter hammer spring letting the weight of the longer barrel do some of the work rather than the springs.

Back then Suppressors on 1911s were known for not cycling reliably...except in the movies! all that weight out front.

Sarco sells a kit consisting of the barrel, stock, main spring housing (needed to connect the stock) and holster for around 170 bucks.
I know, I got mine a few months back.
It ain't practical but it ought to be fun.
Oh, using it on a frame that is set up for 45 super and firing appropriate ammo through it.

I bought a kit like this that had the 16 inch barrel and stock back in the early 90s from The Shotgun News. Put it on my 1911 and took it shooting 2-3 times. Didn't like the whippy barrel during recoil and the sight radius is too short. Recoil impulse is weird too. It's a fun conversation piece but that's it. Still have it in the safe but removed the kit from that 1911. I shoot my Ingles High Power with stock instead.
