Does anyone have any information about Barbee knives? I know his shop was in Ft. Stockton TX but I cannot find any knives or information. I own one of his knives, it was made especially for me back in 1987. I was wondering about its value and if there were any other knives floating around for sale.

I have one of his knives from the early 1980's. I'm pretty sure he is dead now. value really doesn't matter that much to as I have no intention of getting rid of it

Barbee of Ft Stockton Texas

Hello all In 1981 I was able to travel through Ft Stockton and took advantage of the opportunity to buy a lovely left handed knife; not to suit me, but it was for sale, in a custom scabbard made by jim's wife.

Unfirtunately during a move some 8 years later it was thrown out with a box full of bubble foam packing, with 2 other knives!!!

I do have a Barbee cataloge of 1981 vintage together with aan order form and price list insert. Most likely fairly rare. Would prefer to still have my little superb knife!!!
I also have an article; photocopy from a US gun mag by Roger Combs about the knife he called the Barb. It had two blades that were rotated from within the grip!!

Twenty years ago I worked with a guy from Fort Stockton who brought a bunch of hand made knives with him to sell at the job site. I bought a 4” hunter that has a C with a slash through it stamped on the tang. Is that a Barbee knife, and if not, anybody know the maker?

Barbie Self Defense System!

LOL, no offense, but at first glance I thought someone had come up with a self defense system using a Barbie doll! I can just see grabbing Barbie's legs and jabbing a bad guy in a nerve center! What a way to humiliate a mugger! And you could even carry Barbie onto an airplane no problem! (Might get a lot of weird looks, though).:neener:

my Barbee knife is a drop point hunter with a 3.25 blade made out of 440C .188 stock. full width , full length non tapered tang. it is one strong knife and came with a sheath that is parallel to the belt. it is marked "J.L. BARBEE" and "Ft. Stockton Tex" with a "-B" between them. there is the number "980" on the opposite side of the blade which I have no idea what it means. I don't remember what I paid for it but I'm pretty sure it wasn't much more than $75.

Barbee Knife

My dad lives outside of Ft. Stockton on a ranch.
He is not making any knives at this time. If you can
send me a picture of the knife I can give you a value of
your knife. I collect my dad's knives if you would like to sale
it.
