Taking the bull by the horns here. These are the rules, this is the match, open to submissions as of NOW. If any glaring omissions are pointed out, I may, at my sole discretion modify no later than Tomorrow. Shoot it or don't.
https://bisonballistics.com/downloads/nra-sr-1-target-200-yard-reduced-for-100-yards This is the target, fired at 100 yards, 10 shots for record. Write class, score, rifle used, ammo/load/shooting position for our edification please when posting results.
Shooting position. Any field position with or without sling. Includes unsupported bench i.e. elbow on the bench, stock in your shoulder. No portion of the rifle may touch any support including bipods or monopods.
2 targets per shooter, per class, per month. You may enter both classes. Winner at the end of February.
Class 1. Military iron. Any military surplus bolt or semi or reproduction (AK, FAL, G3, M1, M1A basic) with iron sights. Sporterized guns are OK if they use a basic "hunting" type iron sight. ARs may be used if standard or carbine models with A2 sights or other open "combat" or hunting type sights. Sporting lever, slide and semi-autos may also shoot this class with sporting iron sights. Use your discretion. NM sights on AR, M1 or M1A rifles, and military rifles equipped with diopter or match sights should shoot in sporting class. If there is enough interest in these rifles, create your own class.
Class 2. Sporting rifle. Any rifle you would realistically take big game hunting or walking varminters, NRA service rifles, tactical carbines. Use your discretion. Optics and match sights allowed, no greater than 6x magnification may be used. Same shooting position as military iron.
