I'm pretty sure that statement was written in sarcasm, since that was mentioned in the OP by the OP and attributed to Askins.

Exactly-my "stupid" remark was only a facetious reference to Askin's typically colorful prose as quoted by the op-thanks, ontarget, for the uptake. Otherwise, it would be a pretty stupid thing to write.
