I knew I shouldn't have stopped in there today! A few weeks ago I spotted a 2" M64 in decent shape. It wouldn't be there, I was sure, but what the heck, I had a little time...:banghead:
Well, it was gone... BUT didn't we just have a visit from our friendly auction/police trade/estate sale guy! So many wanted wheelies I had to leave without buying anything. Not because I couldn't find one I wanted, because I couldn't DECIDE between all the ones I wanted. 4" and 6" M15's, model 10's of every configuration-including a 2"-a 4" nickel/pencil, 6" pencil, etc. Believe it or not, I don't have a Model 10 yet. Original 642's and 648's in stainless .38, nice original wood...
:banghead:
The three that had me most interested were:
-VG/Excellent M60. Original .38 with skinny wood grips. I don't have a steel J, and I love stainless guns. This classic is a real want for me and would make a good companion to my regular carry, a 342.
-2-1/2" M66-1 (yes, P+R) The P+R doesn't make it more of a must-have for me. I've always loved the look and feel of the 2-1/2" 66 and this was a nice one. A nice companion/cousin for my 2-1/2" M19, too.
-4" M19 also in great condition. Obviously a real classic revo. This is the one that is really haunting me. The only 4" S+W I have is the last one I bought, a model 15. I've only shot it once but I really like it. The only way I could do the 19 would be to sell the 15 and put the cash in towards it. This is the move I'm kicking around right now. :banghead:
I LOVE snubs, especially stainless, so the 60 and 66 were big draws. But I wouldn't trade my 342 for the 60 and it's my only pocket gun.:banghead:
I wouldn't trade my 2-1/2" 19 for the 2-1/2" 66 because, well, just because! :banghead:
I AM considering selling the 15 and buying the 19. This would make an interesting progression, because I sold an old Colt I was never really into to buy the 15 even-up. I could probably sell the 15 and put less than $100 to walk out with the 19. If back then, I had had the opportunity to trade the Colt and $100 for this 19, I would have done it in a heartbeat, but I like that 15...
:banghead:
I actually considered buying a plain-old model 10 for $150, just to "feed the monster" and get out of there cheap. In the end, I tore myself away without buying anything but they'll all be flying at my head in my dreams tonight. After all those years it was still easier to quit smoking than to quit these things!:(

Majic, I just KNOW that's coming! I have intentionally not handled any N's when I been in shops or at shows. I figure one day someone will hand me one at the range and ask if I want to try it. It'll be all over after that, I'm sure!

One thing about it, if history tells us anything, all of the guns you looked at will be gone the next time you go back and the problem is solved!!!

IG- I'm counting on that! It's weird that I left without buying. I was actually thinking, of the three main ones I mentioned, if only one of them had been on the shelf, I probably would have bought it!
(Man, definitely a sickness....I need help!)

I am with Majik, the N frame bug is a hard one to cure. Especially when you find yourself looking at a pristine "New Century" aka Triplelock....I have trouble resisting those. 2nd Model Hand Ejectors too....sigh.....its a sickness...but we are not complaining:rolleyes: ...my wife does that:D

i by no means have any money. but in a few years of saving pennys ive managed to get 6 S&W revolvers without locks.

one is an L frame, two are Ks, and three are Js.

it is very addicting, and i feel your pain(in my best Bill Clinton voice).
