Judge overrules ATF, restores gun license

I just hope these folks don't get raided by a resentful ATF in the near future, and have their pets stomped to death while they burn everyone else alive inside the store.

And I hope the space ants don't take over the world using flying monkeys mesmerized by their mind control lasers.

Here. Have some tin foil. It's on me.

The FBI and lost guns

The FBI are not good in the lost gun department.

Meeting a young chap in a Starbucks set off a long conversation about computerized inventory systems, that was his business, me, I was a firearms Instructor. He had been hired to build a computer program to track firearms.

He said in starting this program they first had to go back over all issued to agent records, saying since the start of issuing firearms to individual agents, they can not account for some were in the area of 10,000 firearms, from pistols to Tommy guns.

There is no way I can attest to the truth in this matter, but he certainly knew computers! He had a hand held device that translated the written word to the printed word on a four inch screen, never seen one of those before, or since!

atf

the atf does not really care about convictions, they want to destroy and the best way is to charge and harrass until the bankrupt people.an old man in western mass was harrassed day and night until he had a heart attack over paper work where he abriviatted the name places like MA insted of massachusets.he died.the worst trash from police dept get jobs there.:fire::banghead:

Do you believe an unaccompanied 5-year-old should be able to take his birthday gift money into a store and buy a gun and ammo?

No infringement means no infringement, right?

John

Any responsible parent and/or shop clerk would prevent that from happening, John. It is NOT the government's responsibility.

And I hope the space ants don't take over the world using flying monkeys mesmerized by their mind control lasers.

Big difference. There's never been any documented cases of space ants, flying monkeys, or mind control lasers existing. Yet there is ample documentation and evidence that ATF agents have repeatedly murdered innocent people in the past for not cooperating with them.

You did, of course, read about the mayor of the small Maryland town just outside of Washington DC that had the cops place a package of Cannabis on his porch (addressed to his wife), watched him take it inside, then raided the house, shot both his black labs in front of them (one of which they had to chase down in the house to shoot), held him, his wife, and his mother in law on the floor in cuffs next to the two dead for several hours?

I have plenty of tin foil already, thank you.

ATF agents have repeatedly murdered innocent people in the past for not cooperating with them.

No doubt it occurs hourly. In fact, just consider yourself another corn stalk in the ATFs scorched Earth policy against the forces of Heaven itself.

In fact, every last one of them are bloodthirsty monsters without souls. That's why you had to piece together various events into one event, right? Because there were SOOOOOO many to choose from?

So you actually, truly, really do hope that "these folks don't get raided by a resentful ATF in the near future, and have their pets stomped to death while they burn everyone else alive inside the store."

That's it? That's your wish?

Any other wishes? Do you also get down on you knees and pray to God that the Japanese don't attack Pearl Harbor? After all, it is documented that it's happened in the past!

How about Mexicans trying to take back portions of America? Is that a big fear?

You're bringing up the Waco Siege which occurred once, fifteen years ago like it happens every day, so just how far are you willing to go to ensure freedom?

Every day I go my church and light a candle, dump a load of money in the offering box and pray that the Pharaohs don't make the Jewish slaves build more pyramids.

Hey, it's "documented".

The ATF has the means, the (questionable) authority, the opportunity, and the motivation to harrass, arrest, injure or possibly kill this man and/or his family in the near future. You cannot say the same about pharaohs or the Japanese and what you imply they "might do" in the near future.

All I see here is you doing what the antis do. It's call fear-mongering.

Eventually we'll make some effort to strike a balance. The government will stop looking at us like fodder and well stop looking at the government like an enemy.

Like it or not, both the people and the their government is needed.

I am not fear mongering. The ATF is after all of us, it is their job. It's what they do. Their main purpose is to find, investigate, and prosecute people with firearms that don't fit their definition of legal, or those who fail to fill out paperwork in regards to firearms they can't find fault with.

I merely expressed my hope that this gentleman is not harassed by a historically vindictive government agency. If I was fear mongering, I would say that he WILL be harassed, arrested, and have his pets killed in front of him. I didn't say that, now, did I? ;)

Does the BATFE ever spend time investigating real criminals who are buying and selling guns on the black market? Or is the only purpose for their existence to harass law abiding businesses over paperwork errors?
The number one criminal charge prosecuted from ATF investigations for the last five years was violations of 18USC922, and the vast majority of those were 18USC922(g)(1), felons in possession of firearms.

For June of 2008 there were over 800 cases referred for prosecution by ATF.

18USC922 charges account for approximately two thirds of all charges filed in ATF cases.

Title 21 charges for illegal drug activity, primarily drug distribution and conspiracy, account for another 17% of the charges. Maybe you're not aware but many violent criminals are involved in the drug trade, and often possess firearms which will cause ATF to become involved in investigations of drug dealers.

Violations of 18USC924, primarily 18USC924(c) the use, brandishing or discharge of a firearm in furtherance of a federal crime of violence, and 18USC924(e) possession of a firearm/ammo by an armed career criminal, account for approximately 8% of cases referred for prosecution. So it's obvious that without going any further, the ATF has at least 90% of their criminal cases tied up in investigating "real criminals."

Hey, I'm all for overthrowing the Government, but shouldn't we wait for something more.......tyrannical?

you must be wearing your shiny side in its not working

I have to disagree with VARifleman(?) on his comment about everything being computerized. An FFL holder has to keep HAND-WRITTEN records of every single transaction and firearm in inventory. I know because first of all I used to hold an FFL and, secondly, because I spend a great deal of time at a MAJOR gun shop and shooting range. I have seen the books in which the shop has to keep a HAND-WRITTEN inventory of every transaction on every single firearm that enters the store. For a store that does several millions of dollars in gun sales each year that is a lot of writing.

For those that wonder about the BATFE and where it came from I'd suggest they get hold of a copy of Unintended Consequences by John Ross. It is just a little bit of an eye opener about a good many things that have gone on in this country.
