Can't find load data.
38 Special tcfp lead 105 grain bullet using blue dot.

I found data using CFE pistol but the load is small. My fear is case capacity vs load density. I know the blue dot will consume more capacity so I would rather use it. There is data for 90 gr bullets and 110 gr. I got the 105s because, well just because I suppose.

You can always use the heavier weight bullet data and work up.

My wife and I shoot tons of the 105 gr. FP bullets in .38 Special in SASS matches, but I load them over Bullseye. I don't know how much velocity they will handle, since there isn't much bearing surface with that bullet, but Blue Dot wouldn't be one of my choices.

I'm loading them to 850 fps, and they're a great bullet at that speed, and I get a lot more bullets per pound of alloy with them. And the targets don't seem to care that they're being hit with a lighter bullet, either.......

I agree the Blue Dot is likely to not burn well at low pressures. It works fine in screamer loads up at the top of the pressure curve but doesn't seem to like light loading. In standard 38 Special loads I'd think you would have better results with faster powder like Bullseye or 231...or maybe Unique which would likely fill the case better.

FWIW, and just a couple random thoughts. When I run ito a "problem" like this I usually think "Perhaps this combo jes ain't recommended", and to make sure I never run into one of these situations, I find a load before I buy components...

I've used Bluedot in a lot of magnum loadings and early in my reloding I tried it in a .38 Spcl. with 125 gr. bullets. It was kinda like a sandblaster, spewing unburned powder outta the barrel...
