40 S&W stamped 9mm

Sorting some range brass and found a 9mm case with 40 S&W head stamp. Just found it interesting. Like finding a coin with an imperfection.
Any thoughts?

Another fail at good quality control. Obviously not unsafe this time but it makes me wonder what other "goofs" might slip by for the sake of speeding up production. Just sayin.:banghead:

On another forum a member posted a picture of a Winchester .40 S&W case that was also headstamped "9mm". I gave the pictures to a Winchester rep at the SHOT Show and the reply was, "mistakes happen".........

And I have no problem with Fiocchi brass, either.
