Let me say I'm impressed. I just picked up an XD 40 Tactical. I paid $400 for it. Lightly used and with 4 mags. Very little recoil and accurate. Starting tearing the center out of the target from the get go. I'm partial to my 1911's and my Sig, but I might just be shooting a new gun in the next IDPA or IPSC match. I going to need to let the mags sit filled for a while though. The 12th round was a thumb buster on three of them.

Congrats!

I just got my first XD last month. It's so much fun that my 1911 and S&W revolvers haven't seen daylight since I brought it home.

I gotta get them out and nurture them some I guess...

I'm already thinking of a .40S&W XD but that will have to wait for a while.

kind of surprising since I can not stand Glocks, just can't shoot them. Don't know why I like the like the XD so much. I shot a buddies XD 40 and loved it. The added weight of the 5 inch slide makes it even better. I think I'm going to try to find a .357 Sig barrel for it.

You guys need to stop buying XD's because every time I check the prices keep going up and up. That whole supply and demand thing. I think everyone should boycott XD's until after I've purchased a couple more.

:D

As has been stated, I got one of the first Springfield XD-.45 ACP's shipped
into the great state of Alabama; back in the week of Christmas 2005. Its
simply a great firearm; very capeable of out-standing accuracy, and also
running side by side with my West German .45 caliber SIG-SAUER P220A.

I bought my first XD awhile back. It's a 45 Tacticle & It has become my favorite gun by far! I ordered a XD 9mm Tac about 5 weeks ago & am dying for it to get here. I know you will like your XD also.

Friend of mine inquired of Carver Mounts when they'd have a scope/red dot, etc., mount for the XDs. Bobby says that as soon as there have been 500 XD's sold nationwide, he'll start some design work.

I love mine...

I bought a 40 sub compact for carry then bought a tactical for a house gun, they point exactly the same, the tactical is just better a little further out. Then my wife discovered them and I had to buy a third sub compact for her!

Me and my xd

I own a Taurus Millenium 40 that I thought was a decent gun untill I purchased My XD45. This gun should be a requirement for gun owners along with the 1911. Stop screaming, I'm not saying it should replace the 1911 for all you traditionalists, I love it also, I just think if you want a polymer this is the way to go. It's a true functional Frankenstein of some of the greats.

congrats on the new gun and, it is great to hear that there is another happy sa xd owner out there. i love my .40 service model, and definetly plan to round out my collection with the tactical model and the sub-compact, both in .40 before it is all said and done. the xd is too my favorite handgun that I have ever shot, owned, carried or handled, they are to sweet to be true sometimes!

I want a XD .40 tac!! It's gonna be my next gun just don't have the funds right now!!! Ok, thanks just wanted to complain. :neener:

I may have asked this awhile back but dont remember the answer:) .

Do they make a laser for the XD45 Service? My next handgun purchase is gonna be that gun, but I don't have any lasers on my handguns, and think this gun would be the perfect one to choose a laser for.

I have an XD 45 and do love to shoot it. I am thinking that XD and 1911 is all one needs to make a well rounded collection for semi autos.

I have a TLR-2 hanging on mine and it makes a great laser/light package for it and even improves it's and my shooting.

When I bought my XD9 Service almost two years ago, it took one trip to the range for it to be my favorite pistol.

Congratulations!!

I love my XD service .45, the only thing I would change is the sights (I'm actually about to get night sights installed) The white dots are kinda small but I still shoot it well after a little practice and adjustment.

I just got an XD 45 and first thing I did was a trigger job. Shortened the reset anf the take up and then lightend the pull to about 3.5 lbs. And then took it to the range.:what:

Chunk of a gun compared to the 1911, which is THE .45 by the way, but the XD is a keeper.

You got that right, deezul.

From what I read, people who like the 1911 platform get to like the XD's real quick, and I'm one of them.

I carry a Colt LW XSE Commander for the most part, but I also bought both the XD9SubCompact and the XD45 Service (bi-tone) and they have definitely taken their place among some of my favorite pistols.

My S&W 6909 and a 5906 may get put up for sale since the XD's have turned out to be the perfect (and better) replacements for them.

XD Lover

I have purchased two XD45s. My first was purchased in El Paso at a gun show. I took it to Lubbock right after to vist my son. I am 6ft.,210. He is 5'9" and about 145. He loved mine so much I bought him one so mine wouldn't stay in Lubbock. He used his to qualify for a ccw. His score was perfect and the crowd watching wanted to see the gun too. His instructor was so impressed he went to buy one. Mine is one of my two current favorites. The other is a CZ75b 9mm. I don't know why but like the xd it just stuck in my hand at the show so I bought it. It is great and cheap to shoot. Hell, with two hands a guy ought to have two guns in them ...right?
