Dave was right on about the pushing left was because the gun was 2 sizes too big and my trigger pull needed work. I was tightening my entire hand rather than just my index finger as I pulled the trigger to try and hold on to compensate for my hand not fitting the grip. I adjusted my hands so that my off hand was doing most of the recoil control and concentrated on moving just the index finger of my dominant hand.

The instructor, also named Dave, how many of you guys are there anyways?:neener: ) siggested that I try taking a nickle and balancing it on the first joint of my trigger finger and practice my trigger pressing motion. If i can "pull the trigger" once for every round the gun holds without dropping or having to readjust the nickle then I'll know I have a smooth triggerpull. He also suggested that after I get my gun (which will fit me properly) that I practice dryfiring with the nickle balanced on top of the barrel. That will only work if it is a semi-auto. Revolver barrels aren't realy condusive to balancing nickles.

^. Sounds like you catch on really quick. I think thats
a good idea about the nickel and I'm doing it. I don't get
out to the range to shoot hardly at all anymore, as I
have a loved one who needs almost 24/7 care, but
your post above has me doing that nickel exercise now.

Thanks for the tip MedGrl and congrats on your improved
shooting and new CCW.
