Just for fun, how many lbs of powder have you used reloading?

I use about 16 lb of rifle and a couple of lbs of pistol per year give or take, so I am in the 150 - 200 range. I get a general idea of my reloads by keeping the primer trays. First of the year, throw em out and start a new stack. This picture was taken in September.

I used to keep my primer boxes and trays as a record of approximately how many rounds I've loaded, but it took up too much space so now I just have a sheet of paper taped to my loading shelf where I keep track of the number of empty 1k primer boxes as I throw them away.

After 40 years of reloading I would venture to say I have used enough powder to equal a small nuclear explosion.

SAAMI demonstrates a bonfire with 28,000 rounds of ammunition ... no explosion (12:20 minute mark of video) and 252,000 rounds of ammunition in a semi trailer (20:55 minute mark of video) ... no explosion.

Yes I am aware of this video.

Have not kept track. Maybe 15 or 20 pounds in the last 3 years. One of my new favorite loads is 2.2 grains of trail boss under a hbwc, so it will take a lot of 20 gauge trap shells and 3006 to offset those.

When I was in college, I was helping blast the tunnels that became the Atlanta subway system, We used Tovex 210 explosive, it looked like a 12-16" white sausage and when it exploded, it was a great material; that said, the company set a truckload on fire and all it did was burn a pretty blue flame. Without a blasting cap, it wasn't as powerful.......just like gun powder.
