Actually it is a Rock River lower half and a Bushmaster Dissiapator upper half but you get the picture. It looks and basically is the same rifle as the regular Bushmaster Dissipator.
I am posting this as a sort of a heads up slash warning about the Dissiapator uppers. I was not able to handle one before I bought so I was going on looks alone. I wanted an A-2 carbine with a mid-length handgaurd and a 16" bbl. When I saw the Dissipator online, I knew it was what I was really after. Some people have reported the they are muzzle heavy. I ignored this as I thought they were just used to the M-4 with thin bbl and they were talking about the extra weight of the full length handgaurds. It turns out that it is not only muzzle heavy but it is just plain old heavy. It probably weighs close to the same weight as a 20" bbl A-2. If you are looking for a light handy carbine, this may not be what you want. There are plenty of lighter AR-15s out there!
The good news is this, I love the feel of the 20" A-2 and this Dissipator feels a lot like it but with a shorter bbl. It is not super light but it is short and handy. It is still a little lighter than my SAR-1 that I just traded. It is about the same size as the SAR-1 also.
For me, this is the perfect AR-15. I don't want anything more or less out of an AR-15. I like the fact that it is short and I like the fact that it has some weight to it. I shot heavier guns better from a standing position better than light guns. In fact, I shoot heavy guns better than light guns period. I still would not call this a heavy gun but it is no feather.
