Decided to add another Kimber to the safe today. So far I have a Custom CDP II, Tactical Custom II, and a Super Match II. Today I ordered a Custom TLE/RL II from budsgunshop.com. I think I'll turn this one into a HD gun, and add a light and some Crimson Trace laser grips. Will also probably add a magwell some time down the road. Delivery time was quoted as 30-45 days, man thats gonna be a long wait! In the meantime, feel free to post up pics of your TLE/RL's so that I can tease myself some more.

Can't have too many Kimbers.:)

I don't have a TLE/RL but I did recently buy this Ultra Covert II. (my 5th Kimber). Nice gun.

congrats and that would be an awesome set up for hd, i really like the tle's and it was a hard choice when i was choosing my 1911, i still think there will be one in the future, i have shot one and i was very impressed i did some night fire and it did great.

Kimber Is Out With A Brand New One~!

Its called the Kimber Custom SIS (Special Investigations Service of LAPD),
and currently comes in either the standard 5" barrel length; or the 4" Pro
size. It appears too have the same type of "Kim Pro" finish found on all of
the Warrior models; and it has a newly designed grip, unique to these guns.
LAPD authorized Kimber to sell a few of these on the civilian market; but
be warned, the selling price is over 11 C-Notes~! ;)

Ala Dan:

I've had a few of the SIS guns through the shop in the Ultra and Pro size...haven't seen one of the full-sized guns yet. There are actually 4 models. Full size w/rail, full size, pro and ultra.

But you're way off on the price....I sell mine for $1099.95. :neener:

I have seen/handled all except the Ultra. I personally liked the Pro the most. Then, I forgot to check to see if they are Series I or Series II configured. :banghead: Yes, the have the Kim Pro finish. They were very nice!

All the SIS guns are non-Series II (no firing pin block safety). IMHO, could be the best pistol Kimber has done so far. Personally, I would prefer a black trigger and no front-strap checkering. Other than that, could be the perfect 1911 and they're definitely a lot of gun for the money. A guy could spend a lot more than $1100 and not get near as much gun on some custom built brands.

Oh, yeah...also has night sights, ambi-safety and the Ed Brown style grip safety. Comes with one TacMag, too.

Another Kimber? My condolences. I had three, and they all needed work to make them reliable. May you have better fortune than me.

I don't know...Kimber already has the Warrior and Dessert Warrior. They're both exceptionally good versions, and as such, they will be high standards to surpass. :D

M2Carbine, a carry piece with crimson trace grips sounds good, a steel framed officers size. That crimson trace laser is very unobtrusive. How do you turn the laser on?

The 1911 CT lasers have a master On/Off switch near the bottom of the grip.
The activation switch, on the Coverts, is in front of the grip, that black wrap around portion.

The CT laser on my Tactical Ultra is the older type with the activation switch on both sides of the grip.
I believe most people like the front activation better.

I'm a big fan of (good) lasers.
They allow me shoot better than I am.:)
