Trying to decide on another K31 but am having trouble on which one to get. I think I read that the beech stocks were less common than walnut but the taste of the US market places the premium on walnut. Samco has some "tiger stripe" walnut but I'm not sure if it would be worth paying an additional premium for. Anybody have good pictures of what the "tiger stripe" walnut stocks look like? I already have a beech model that is a little beat up but not too bad, it had a scope in place of the rear sight so it's not exactly original either. Mostly looking for nice original rifles anymore, preferably with some uniqueness/ collect ability.

Tiger stripe Walnut. In a couple of years these are going to be going for double and eventually triple what they cost now. I bought my Beech stock K31 for under 100$. They now go for 200$. Eventually they will climb up to 500$. I'm going to be thinking about Tiger Stripe Walnut K31s for the rest of the day now. I think I see some OT in my future.

I think the striped looks nice and isn't seen on too many of them but I also wouldn't pay a premium for it. I personally think the color of the beech looks the best but american tastes seem to go toward walnut.

I will not vote. My best looking one has a drop dead gorgeous piece of flame grained walnut in the buttplate, then flowing through grip area into forend. Light walnut color, with hints of gold. It was my first, a gun show pickup on spur of the moment purchase. The wood was so typically water stained and beaver chewed I had no idea what was hidden. I have orderd a few since but have not been so lucky. I do have one 96/11 orderd and imported via a group purchase on one of the Swiss rifle sites that has a very nice piece of tiger stripe walnut.
