Just curious about your opinions on Kahr Arms. I’m looking for a new 9mm for carry. Thanks in advance.

Love ‘em. Carried one for years. Slickest double action trigger out there. I just recently got into a Glock 48, but am going through a transitional process. I still shoot the kahr better and faster.

if you want to dip a toe, look at the CT line. That’s their cheap line. Only one mag and a couple of other differences, but around $300 new. I consider them a best bang for the buck. My carry while I transition is a CT9.

Last count, I have 7 of them.

Mine have all been reliable, with one exception (a P45 I had.) I trust my life to them, they are my carry pieces... that is to say, the CW9 and the PM/CM9.

You NEED to practice getting used to the trigger pull... it's much like a revolver with it's length, once you get that down, it's fantastic.

A lot of guys love their kahrs.
I don't run down any brand specifically but if you want my honest opinion...
They're not my cup of tea. Long goofy trigger pull with equally long goofy reset. I had a cw45 that didn't survive 250 rounds of factory range ammo (low powered ammo). Even after "repair" the slide would rise up a good bit just from pulling the trigger and it was never reliable, I really tried to get it working. I had a cw40 too, it was probably the most miserable gun to shoot I could imagine. Magazines aren't cheap or common. They're just not for me. I could see past the numerous short falls if they were cheap, they aren't . but like I said there is a kahr following and the guys who like them find them to be excellent.

I've had a couple they've been good guns I sold my PM9 when I got my LC9s mostly cause I'm kinda a Ruger fan.
I got rid of my CW45 because I felt it was pretty much a duplicate of my PPS 40 and a friend wanted the Late.
My daughter still has her CW9 I got her that should be a ringing endorsement.

Funny you mention that. I bought that P45 I mentioned to be my carry piece, I was very excited about it. It wound up having a short chamber (what I finally diagnosed it to be) and I eventually sold it off. Really wanting a Kahr 45, I bought a used CW45... and you are right, they are just a little wonky compared to the very tight CW9 (I have/have had 5 different CW9's to compare it to.) Whereas the 9mm Kahrs are greater than the sum of their parts, both of my .45 have not been so. My CW45 is reliable and accurate enough, but it is not the same pistol my CW9 is, and I would not carry it. It's a fun range and pickup truck gun.

I owned a CM9, I really liked it. Carried easily, accurate and reliable. I ended up selling it, but it’s one I wish I had kept. The trigger really is like a double action revolver, I shoot mostly revolvers so I liked it. I would buy one again, although the new higher capacity subcompacts like the P365 might tempt me more.

Love ‘em too. I have six of them, five 9mm and a P380. As others have mentioned, they have a butter-smooth DAO trigger, like a nice revolver trigger. I have found them to be reliable, easy to shoot and carry, and accurate. I heartily recommend them, at least in 9mm and 380acp.

My smallest 9mm pistol is a Kahr PM9. It's small enough to pocket carry in some cases. While Kahr triggers are polarizing, I find that I really like the smooth and predictible DAO-ish trigger feel in my PM9. Then again, I'm of the opinion that many modern striker fired pistol triggers are too short and light for defensive purposes.

I've never played with their polymer guns, but my dad has had two of their K9, the all steel model. Well made, dandy shooters, if the form factor and trigger pull are to your taste. The biggest problem with the K series is low resale value. MSRP is around a grand, but you'll be lucky to get out of one for more than $400.

It's sort of a branding issue. Folks get used to seeing the Kia price tags on the polymer guns, and are unwilling to pay Cadillac prices for the steel ones.

I have an old Kahr E9, which was a short-lived economy model of the original K9. It is all steel and therefore heavy, but it has been a good gun, reliable, accurate, and pleasant to shoot.

My MK9 is the gun I carry the most followed by my P380. I have been a fan for years.

I actually kinda liked the triggers, but two of the three that I have had experience with had some issues. I’ve owned a CW40 and it functioned flawlessly. I also owned a CW45 that couldn’t get through a magazine without an FTE. The third one that I have experience with was my friend’s CW40. It had 2-3 FTE’s per magazine and when he called them about it they refused to look at it until he had 500 rounds through it due to their “break in period.” 500 rounds through a gun that stops functioning every other round is hair pullingly frustrating. It’s also about half the price of the gun in ammunition. At about 100 rounds he returned it to the gun shop it was purchased at and swore off the company. I owned my CW40 after that because it was a great deal but I definitely wouldn’t pay full price for one after the experience.

I bought a used CW45 a couple of years ago. Haven't quite gotten it to work reliably yet but I admit I haven't tried too hard. I still might; I did want to carry it when I bought it. I probably won't though, as I later got a G2C that gives me nearly twice the capacity. Still, I like the CW, and the trigger pull feels more natural to me because I was a revolver shooter first (and still am.)

I have the CM9 which I carried for a while; great gun.....however I will say that my SIG P365 is the same size and holds twice as much

For both my revolver and semi-autos for CCW I really prefer a nice smooth DAO trigger. My two S&W J frames both have this as does my Kahr CM9. The ergonomics on the Kahr are perfect for someone with smaller size hands like I have. It's also extremely easy to conceal carry and so lightweight as to make it very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. My particular gun is well built and is very dependable.

I had a CM9 which was awesome. Ran like a top, recoil was easy the hand too which was a pleasant surprise.

I have owned a K40 since 1997 and a CM9 since 2012. Both have been wonderfully reliable guns. The K40 has well over 10,000 rounds down the pipe and served as a daily carry piece for over 15 years. I've never had any of the "problems" that I've read about others having. I'm convinced they are generally caused by user error.

I did lock up my K40 once during the third year of ownership. I put the recoil spring in backwards while reassembling the gun after cleaning. Completely my fault. I sent it to Kahr and they fixed the problem at no charge. They even polished the feed ramp and paid for the return shipping.

Sold my last Kahr cheap to my girlfriend at the time. Great gun. Reliable to a fault, accurate, and fit her well. She's gone on to a different life now, but she was important to me. So, it relieves me to know that she has the tools to defend herself well.

No problems with mine... but be sure and follow the manual instructions for break in & lube.
CW45, PM9
CW9, CT380

The Kahr forum has a great "sticky" tutorial on the proper break-in procedure, cleaning and lube procedure and how to check your mag springs - at one time, many of their mag springs were put in backwards
