As mentioned in the other thread I found myself owning a Kahr ct45 that is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Well less than a week into ownership I've already been at the frame with a knife, file and die grinder relieving the bottom of the magwell enough to accept a 1911 magazine.

In this case a generic 8rd mag that says "colt 45" on the bottom. What's going on is the 1911 mag is slightly shorter from the catch to the floorplate than the Kahr mag. The mags also require a VERY slight shorting at the very top front as they protrude from the frame a minuscule amount too far.

UPDATE

I've been to the range a couple times now and this modification has proven sound.

The generic mag pictured was a bust. It would feed manually but not automatically. I attribute this to a quite obviously weak mainspring.

I bought a new kimber mag from my LGS for $14 and after the slight shorting of the sides it feeds 100% and even locks open on the last round. In fact I've been carrying the gun with this magazine thus upping my total capacity to 9 rounds of 45acp.

I really don't foresee myself ever buying a Kahr mag.
