i have chambered 800 rounds through the cw9 and i'm having repeated magazine droppage. the firearm is extremely accurate and handles great. i spoke to kahr and they are sending me a new mag release. customer service was speedy and friendly. Has anyone else had same problems?

I've read of this from time to time. My own Kahrs (E9 from 1999 and PM9 from 2006) never did, however. SIG pistols from the 1990s have been known to drop mags as well due to low tension on the release, so I don't want to hear any Kahr "bashing."

My CW45 would drop magazines; always with two rounds in the magazine.
When I called customer service and mentioned the magazine drops, they immediately said they would send a replacement latch and did so speedily.
The replacement latch showed post finish machining on the catch shelf and did stop the magazine drops.
However, I think (at least on the CW45) that a redesign of the magazine follower would be a better solution:

One of the many problems I experienced on my old factory refurbished MK-40 elite98 was magazine droppage during firing. At first, Kahr sent me a couple of more powerful catch springs which sort of helped, but not really. Finally they sent me a new catch with a cut-out shelf to go in to the cut-out of the magazines. The old design had a sort of bulge which pressed crudely into the gap, but did not have a geometric ledge to completely prevent the mag from coming out without hitting the the mag release button. Now the problem is fixed, however due to the cut-out in the catch, the mag now sits a hair lower than before and rattles. It is not good for CCW purposes (noise-wise), but it has not caused any malfunctions yet and that includes no more mags dropping during firing.
