Just purchased a new k9 Kahr yesterday and tried to disassemble it before shooting. Removed the clip, popped out the recoil pin, let the slide go fwd and then pulled the trigger as per the instructions. slide would only move fwd about 3/8 " and then seemed to hit something solid. I reassembled and tried a couple more times with no luck. Everything looked ok so I loaded it up and no problems with shooting, ran about 100 rds with no problems. Any ideas on what might be hanging up on the slide to keep it from comming off. Nick

Hrmm... It's been a while but I think that I just made sure the gun was empty, removed the mag, pulled the slide back, removed the slide stop, pulled the trigger and the slide came forward, off of the frame. Maybe you have to hold the trigger down while you pull the slide off? I can't remember.

Proper disassembly instructions for the Kahr:

Drop magazine.

Completely rack slide to insure chamber is unloaded. Do it again. Look at the chamber twice!!

Then pull the trigger pointing the muzzle at something safe.

Move slide back until the witness marks on the left match up and hold.

Push disassembly/slide lock pin out.

Pull slide forward.

On rare occasions the slide hangs up after this procedure, just fiddle with the trigger a bit, while gently pushing the slide forward. Sometimes there is a little conflict between the trigger bar and the striker assembly. It always comes apart, just don't force it.

A bit of CLP on the trigger bar where it matches up with the firing pin assembly makes thing smoother.
