The other day a friend and I were at a gunshow and there was a Kahr P9 there. He made a statement that the P frames did not last very long. When I asked him where he heard that he responded that he had recently read that they did not last much more that about 1000 rounds.

I have not heard that, and wonder what anyone here knows about it.
FWIW I have a P9, and have probably shot it 500 rounds. I do not believe the statement he made, and have not heard or read of such a short life of the Kahr P frame.

Regards,
Jerry

About this time last year, there was an article by Duane Thomas in Guns & Ammo discussing the Kahr in which Kahr appeared to state that the P series were rated for 5,000 rounds or so. I contacted Kahr to verify this. The response I got back was that the article misquoted Kahr, that the statement was the P series were tested for a minimum of 5,000, and Kahr would have the error corrected.

Thanks, Buzz.
That is probably where my friend heard or read about it. I suspect that the guns will last much longer than that number.
I realize that many of us shoot more rounds than that in less than a year, but I have not shot the P9 much. I usually shoot a steel 1911. The Kahr is strictly a carry gun, and not a range gun per se. I shoot it enough for confidence.

Thanks again, and have a good day.
Jerry
