Kahr PM45

Did someone say recoil?

I look forward to a range report. That's a lot o' horsepower in a small package. I'd kinda like that....if I could afford one.

I've seen them before. I can't believe how teensy they are for a .45. :D I would also like some impressions of the recoil. It would probably be pretty substantial, I'm sure, but my guess would be that it would not be painful or punishing like a .357 "fleaweight" revolver.

I have heard that they are not bad, otherwise I would not have purchased it. There is a real nice write up in June's Combat Handguns.

yeah, but that's like saying that geting kicked in the nads is not as bad as getting hit in the face with a tire-iron.

That really is a remarkably small package for that round. Those guys at Kahr are really good. Enjoy the new gun.

I suspect the velocity is so low the recoil is greatly reduced. I worry about these having adequate penetration.

I read somewhere that the .45acp doesn't suffer as badly from a shorter barrel because the cartridge itself doesn't reach pressures of a 9mm +P or .40s&w. I always thought that being a heavier round it should suffer MORE from a shorter barrel since it doesn't have as much acceleration time in the barrel. Who knows physics around here?

It's a .45 in a larger package than the easily manageable PM40. I couldn't see myself having any problem with the recoil. Comparing it to a featherweight .357 is ridiculous, and I'd even an all-steel .357 would make this feel like a full size 9mm.

Recoil from my P45 is not bad at all very easy to control. The hardest part for me was the Looooonnng trigger pull. That takes some practice. Enjoy the new one.

I've owned and shot 3 different subcompact .45s (Glock 36, Taurus PT145, Cobra Patroit), all lightweight polymers, and I found the recoil to surprisingly mild in all. I think the polymer frame soaks up some of the recoil. I've been thinking about getting a PM45. I've got a PM9 I love.

Pm 45

Dan-O hope it is one of the reliable from the box PMs. I have the 9 and like it.
That form factor should get you ready for the M&P 340 with full house .357 loads. ;)
Is that your first Kahr?

I am considering a PM45 as well...

I am considering a PM45 as well. I'd love to hear your impressions once you take it to the range. Thanks for the pics.

Third Kahr. Also have a pm9, and a cw40. Still in Vegas, and won't make it to the range till at least Tuesday as my Jayhawks are still in it to win it.
