Anybody heard about a recall on Kahr PM9s?
I copied this from the Kahr board on Glocktalk:
....................
Kahr customer service says the affected PM9 barrels are VB0004 to
VB0999.
The other series is VA0003-VA9999.
....................

From what they are saying over there, you just send the barrel in, and part of the feed ramp is machined.
It solves feed problems.

I don't know my serial number off hand, but I just crossed the 1000 round mark with no feed failures, so I don't think I'll sweat this one.

If you don't have problems, I wouldn't sweat it.

I would however call Kahr and get their updated mag release. It's a little longer and prevents accidental release a little better. They don't advertise it..so you'd have to call them. Plus it's a free part.

The recall IMHO is no biggie. My early serial number VB shot well with Gold Dots and hardball. No problems. I sent the barrel back to get 'slightly machined' and it will also include the ramp being polished too.

Kahr has handled this well...so far. :)

I also called Kahr last month and asked for and received the new and improved mag release and this has been excellent. Much better than the original equipment.

I don't really consider it a big deal either. When the company backs it products, I don't log any marks against them if they have to make a few adjustments on a new design. But, it boils my blood when a manufacturer knows something is a problem and doesn't say anything until something breaks, blows, or wears out.

Improved mag release? Hadn't heard about that. Maybe I'll e-mail them and ask. Then again I'm reluctant to mess with a gun that hasn't given me any problems.

What a relief! Mine is VA series. I remember b/c it is the abbrev for my state.
You may want to re-read this thread's opening post. All of the "VA" series barrels are recalled. I also have a "VA" PM9, but it has performed perfectly so far. I've decided NOT to return it ~ If it ain't broke...

I DID however replace the magazine release with the updated version because it had a tendency to accidentally dump the magazine with only slight pressure on the button.

I have only had my VB05XX PM-9 for a couple of weeks, but I have already run over 300 rounds of assorted hollow points through it without a bauble. So, I think that I will be not be sending the barrel in. (I hate to think that I would be without it since it has become my "constant companion".) As it is, my "deep cover" CCW is back at Kel-Tec for some warranty work.

As far as the "new" mag release, when did they start using this? Would my pistol already be equipped with it? I haven't had any problems with it, and it doesn't appear to want to prematurely eject my mags.
