The Black Rose is a special edition that has some cosmetic engraving and a black chrome finish.

Mine is just listed as the blackened slide/night sights.

Now to put this to bed. The PM9/CM9 are the same basic pistol with a very few "cosmetic" changes and a extra magazine, and in my case a set of very nice night sights.
Frankly it comes down to money you are willing to spend. Shooting wise, I can't imagine any difference at all between the two.

$900+ for the Black Diamond coat on Black Rose??

PM9

Following this thread has renewed my interest in my 2003 PM9, which, after 3 trips to the factory, a new slide and barrel, will still occasionally fail to load when dropping the slide on a fresh magazine, especially if it's loaded with 147gr rounds (not sure if Kahr once stated not to use 147gr?).

Mine is the PM9094, I believe- blackened stainless slide + night sights. I really like it in every way except reliability. Initially, it shot 2 feet high amd one foot left at 15 yds, "pie plate" groups before the trips to the factory.

Now it is accurate, shoots where it looks, and except for occasional hangups is a great gun. Haven't carried it for several years- tried it at the range a few months ago and it still misfed a couple of times.

I don't remember whether it was the 7 round mag or the 6 round- have 4 of the 6 rd and 2 of the 7 rd. Early in this thread one member mentioned he had this problem only with the 7 round mag. I will again try the gun and see if my results are the same.

Thought about selling but don't want to sell a gun that isn't 100% functional, especially if it would be used for ccw.

We'll post an update after another range trip!

I am pretty sure you can buy a CM9 and buy a PM9 barrel for it... I think I recall a YouTube video where a guy did that.

Looks exactly like a baby Glock.

I have a PM9 with night sights and crimson trace. I bought it as an EDC carried IWB but I never could draw it very fast. Too hard for my clumsy hands to get a good hold of the little gun. I have about 500 rounds through it with zero malfunctions. And it is amazingly accurate. I like the smooth trigger pull but don't care much for the super long stroke reset. I think it has very little recoil for such a small gun.

I ended up moving to a 1911 Kimber Ultra OWB instead with a shirt hanging over it. It hides nicely since it's very thin, and I can draw it super fast which gives me much more confidence. But I'm keeping the Kahr as an ankle carry backup gun.

The old 1911 classic ..one good thing about that gun is it feels so good in my hands and yes it is easily carried because it's flat. I could never figure out why this 1911 had such a large following of shooters since it's 100 year old design with all of these newer designed pistols available at lower cost.

You really need to label every single magazine individually, since it's probably 1 or 2 particular mags, not a certain style of mag.

PM9

Actually, I have them numbered- just wasn't bright enough to pay attention to which mag!

I am aware that mags are a lot of the reasons for misfeeds, and just didn't pay enough attention to what was happening. I will pay close attention next trip to the range!

In the past I have had problems with Kahrs misfeeding that was solved by simply changing the mag springs. Now days I swap Kahr mag springs at the first sign of trouble.

All of these problems with springs and magazines makes you want to go back to the good old Snubby like a LCR.

When I bought my PM9 the CM was a rumor but was not yet available at the time.
The fit and finish along with the excellent night sights and was mentioned the polygonal rifling probably would have still pulled me towards the PM9.
On the other hand if I had been hard pressed financially the CM model would have been highly considered but then again I would at that point even then consider the KT PF9 as it is at least $125 lower in price than the CM.
Having owned a PF9 and now owning two CM9's....the CM9 is worth WAY more than the $125 difference.
One of the few guns I've ever sold was the PF9. It is way too easy to screw up the PF9 limp wristing where it seems almost impossible to get my CM9s to act up. I'm not anti Keltec by any means, as I own a flawless P11, two P3ATs and two Sub2000's.
Just for info I'm in the camp that the PM9 isn't worth the extra money, not for me anyway.

You 1911 owners that also carry kahrs look at the larger TP series for truly light weight full sized CC pistol. It has the feel you all ready know but in a light weight package the size of a commander. It also may works in many leather and some kydex leather 1911 holsters. Or the other way around. I have 2 kahr low dollar models , cm9 and cw9 and the tp40 that has the same features of the pm/p series. All run well with no issues.

PM 9 is about $200+ more...PM and CM models size is appealing.
Oddly I believe CM9 is not California compliant but the more expensive PM 9 is. Same gun just with cosmetic differences.

Same gun just with cosmetic differences
NO.

Different barrels, different slide lock and the sights on the CM9 are pinned-in and plastic.

Then there are the cosmetic differences......

Still CM 9 is not approved in California like the PM 9 is.
