Kansas/ Missouri/ Oklahoma THR Shoot

Since the time for the next THR shoot is approaching, I would like to make an announcement:
The next THR shoot will be Saturday 12 November.
It is hoped that with an additional month between our get togethers that it will be easier to attend and that more people can do so.

Mark your calendars and start thinking of questions, I'll make a follow-up post in a few days with directions, rules, suggestions, etc..

I have to check my drill schedule. After being in NOLA for huricane relief it is all jacked up. Hopefully I can make it.
On a side note.
The Wannemacher's Gun Show is the weekend of Oct 22-23 in Tulsa, Ok. Everyone is invited.

Just checked my drill schedule and as of right now that weekend in free.
I will mark the date on my calendar when I get home from NOLA and see about making it up. I hope to have a new toy or two my then too. Get my reenlistment bonus in the next week or so and after paying off bills, buying a new car, and kids school clothes wife says I maybe able to purchase a toy or two if the money is there.
But wife gets the car first. Small price to pay since she drives my two most precious assets around town to and from school.

THR Shoot

I am available but would like to know soon where it would be. I hope it is within 100 miles of Wichita - gas prices being what they are.

Ok, I've got a map of the area and the range here.

Start time is usually 10 o'clock and we shut down when everybody leaves or we get the boot.
Both the rifle and the pistol ranges have cover. They are 200 yards and 25 yards respectively. There is a shotgun area, I believe it's open for use. There are facilities but you will need to provide your own food and water. There are boards to paste paper targets on at the pistol and rifle range, and I'm hoping that longrifleman will be bringing that gong again...



GD, I don't know yet if I will have company yet for the drive out but if you need a ride I would be happy to have another passenger. The range is about 3- 3 1/2 hours from Wichita.

Nov 12 won't work for me. That is opening weekend of deer season. I'm only planning on pulling the trigger once that weekend.

Ok, do we want to hold off until spring now?

Hate to have a get-together, with just 1 or 2, but hey, I'm in for it. Will probably be there, if'n the weather holds, to get some range work done.

If the weather holds I am planning on being there with the wife and children. It is about time I get them into the sport. What time are we looking at for this thing to kick off. Need to plan my trip up from Tulsa. What is there in the way to set up reactive type targets? I think having the kiddos seeing something react when they hit it will spark their interest better than punching a hole in a piece of paper.

I would guess time around 1000 or so. Will have to bring in yer eats, and drinks, but the nearest place to get grub is 5 miles south. Plenty of room for stuff to shoot, and do have some steel out there. If'n ya want to bring some "fruit to shoot", that's fine, just clean up the bigger pieces.

Just so happens that I'm leaving for Missouri tomorrow morning for just that reason. Will be up in Fulton.

If it wasn't opening day I would of loved to join you guys. We just had a big Cali/Arizona shoot in Yuma last weekend. Its always great meeting THR folks.

I have to open and run the pool that day. Keyhole, would you be willing to run the get together this time? I should be able to spearhead the next one...

Wasn't able to make it up. Some unexpected expenses came up that made the trip impossible this time. I guess we need to look at something in March for the next one.

Some shooters showed, although not members of the forum. Prior to that, about 4 yards of 'crete was poured, in prep for the houses on the shotgun range
