I am debating if i should trade my xdm9 3.8 with full length grip for a cz p01. I prefer da/sa. But I like that the xdm rides on steel inserts. The cz is an aluminum framed gun which from my understanding wont last as long as steel on steel like the xdm. But the cz is nato certified and will last at minimum 30,000 rounds of ball ammo. If lubed correctly. I know i wont have that much ammo to put through it.

Both the xdm and p 01 are like new with about 150 rounds through them. I would not carry either it would just be a range gun/ home defense gun. I must say the p01 feels better in my hand and i do shoot it just as good as the xdm

If you have had experience with either of these gun please give me your opinions.

What matters is which you are more accurate with and shoot more comfortably. Keep the one that works best for you.

Durability matters to me as well. I shoot them about the same, but the p01 grip feels more comfortable. But im guessing the xdm would last longer.

anyone have a p 01 with a bunch of rounds through it? im interested to hear how the frame rails are holding up

I traded my S&W M&P Compact for the P 01. I've put 1500 rounds thru it w/o any issues. I like the feel of the grips better and it seem to fit all my M&P holsters (that's a plus). It does seem a bit heavier than the Smith but more solid. They are both great handguns.

The CZ P-01 is a high quality pistol...as is the XDm. You already have the XDm, why not save up for the CZ and have both? I bought a great used P-01 this year in the box with paperwork, both mags, etc for $375. CZ-USA has great service too, and lots of parts are available for cz customs, Cajun gun works, and whoever else. Both replacement and upgrade parts.

I really like the ergonomics on the P-01 as the grip frame reminds me very much of the Browning Hi-Power, which is my all time favorite 9mm. Either gun is going to last a very long time so go with the one that feels best to you and gives you the best accuracy.

I've had the full size, all steel 75B since 1998 with thousands of rounds down the pipe, and no malfunctions. I've had the alloy framed 75D "PCR" (similar to the P-01 without the light rail) since 2000, also with thousands of rounds through it and it is my main carry pistol. No failures, very accurate, reliable, and twelve years later it still looks and functions like new.

The nice thing is that all the 75 based pistols including the P-01 can accept the wonderful CZ Kadet Kit .22LR conversion that allows cheap practice, and is a LOT of fun to shoot. It is also very accurate and reliable, rivaling my Ruger MK II's.
