Shot a new to me Kel-Tec P-11 Today, but had numerous failures to Extract with CCI Blazers. Remington JHP's seemed to work ok for the most part. I didn't have any other ammo with me, so I couldn't function test anything else.

What would cause this type of failure? Is it that the aluminum cases are too thick to be pulled out or that it might be a messed up extractor? Is it reasonable to think that other kinds of ammo will extract, but one or two brands won't?

Thought I'd throw in a picture of IT too...

Was the Blazer the first or last ammo you shot?

Sometimes oil left in the chamber will cause extraction failures -- think suction cup, not lube.

Some guns don't work with some ammo and vice-versa. Find one brand that works reliably and stay with it for a carry gun.

I prefer my guns shoot well with anything I can scrounge, but in guns abnormally small for their caliber you usually must compromise.

Blazer was the first ammo. I traded off between the two, but the Blazers always FTE'd on every three rounds or so.

that is odd...

My first 500 rounds thru my P11 were CCI Blazer and never had a single hiccup...

I run WWB JHP mostly these days at the range... also flawless...

Good luck!

KT recommends not using aluminum cased ammo. Sure some work fine with it but change ammo and see what happens.
