Two NIB P-11s purchased years ago in the 115xx range.
Purchased to be used as "niche" guns for a husband and wife when traveling, either by vehicle, or air.
These would allow the preferred blue steel, or blue steel and aluminum alloy OLDer guns such as Gov't Model of 1911, K frames, and J frames to not be used.
Wife became ill, fought and lost a battle with cancer thus none of the reasons these guns were bought originally - came to be. No travel, just a hard fought battle.
There is a daughter, only daughter, and once all the healing, acceptance, and getting on with life occurs, these two guns will be used for travel, by vehicle or air, and fill the role of "niche" guns.
Father is old school, guns, loads, and magazines are to be tested before carry.
Daughter is of legal age to carry now, and she too was raised this way.
As agreed, the Father's pistol was going to be "wrung out" a bit different than daughter's.
Father's P-11 was Taken out of box, inspected, throughly cleaned , and NO Lube. Not one drop, not even on the exterior.
Magazines were bone dry.
Ammunition was Fiocchi 115 gr FMJ.
Make it or break it.
Without the recoil spring and guide rod, this gun was cycled for about 10 minutes - bone dry.
Recoil spring, guide rod installed, rack the slide back , insert magazine, hit slide release and chamber loaded.
Low ready, 3x5 index card at 5 yards, and gun fired all 10 rounds into index card with no malfunctions.
Ten magazines , meaning 100 rounds, fired through two of the magazines were fired before time ran out. Gun fed, extracted, and hit what aimed at with NO malfunctions.
Gun was wiped off externally, and set aside to test later on after we decided what and how we wanted to do so.
