"fluff and buff" = finished the gun for them. ]

If that keeps the price low i am all for it. Although many people do not do fluff and buffs and have trouble free guns the full and buff is very simple and does not take much time or effort.

My P3at was $220 OTD new and my P11 was $240 OTD new. I have no problem doing a little polishing to save that kind of money.

I'm all for customizing but I'd rather not buy my self-defense guns in kit-form. I get the whole "cheap" aspect but the ones I'm seeing st the shops lately look worse than every in terms of fit and finish. The local Army-Navy store has some new P11's and Pf9's right now with horribly pitted slides. One of them was orange / brown with rust and had pits the size of pin heads. I looked at a P11 and could push the rear sight off the slide with my finger. I dont think they have always been this bad. This stuff should never make it out of the factory.

So, um, how much is too little to pay for a defensive firearm? $300? $500? $1000? $2500? $10,000? I mean, just wonderin'. I ain't givin' up on my Kel Tec. Over 11K rounds and still hummin' after 15 years. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And, if it does break, Kel Tec WILL fix or replace it. I gave $270 for it in 1996 dollars. That's over 300 dollar SURELY in 2011 dollars. Is that not enough? Should I sell it and buy a Glock and Wesson or something? It is very accurate, very reliable, and I shoot it very well, but I guess that doesn't matter?

I'm not sure that the cost of a firearm is relevant here. I primarily carry a Glock of some sort (23, 19, 33) and I paid less than $400 for any of them. My new BP9cc was also sub $400. I paid $185 for my LCP and $250 for my 908. My SW99c was $250 and I think I paid $225 for P225.

I like the KT pricepoint but would also like to see them take a little pride in their product. My original P11 from 1998 was built far better than any P11 I see being built today.

I presently own 5 KT's and have had others; The only quality issue was with my PMR-30; It had "the gap". A friend, a heat gun and 5 minutes fixed it.

Otherwise, they've all been fine out of the box, and all great shooters. I will continue to patronize this company with my business and recommend them to others.

My RFB has been back to Kel-Tec three times and its still not working :(

They now seem to be ignoring my Emails.
