Correct me if I'm wrong but on ebay if a product is at $100.00 and I bid $160.00
1 second before the close of bidding.
I will not pay $160.00 for the item but $102.00 or whatever the increment over the highest bid is.
Also my high bid will not be shown. Only my increment over the highest bid will be shown.
Does Bud's not work the same way?

I have never used Bud's.

Sorry, but an obvious typo is not enforceable in any contract scenario

When it goes on to let you double check your bid with the statement that you understand how much you are paying and whatnot, I would say that it is. However, if Buds wants to retain customers, they will probably let it go.

If they try to actually run in for that much, 99% chance the card company will expect fraud and decline it or contact the cardholder. The cardholder can just say "no" to the card company and they stop the whole thing. Bud's can't do a darn thing except re-list it on another auction (like they did almost all their inventory) at the start of the panic.

So Bud's auctions guns instead of selling them at a set price now? Or is it just because this gun is so sought after and they are taking advantage of that to extract the maximum cash for it?

The KSG sure looks like a nice gun, and I've seen it sell for around $2,000 before. From what I"ve heard, Kel Tec has made very few of these, so they are hard to find, plus they also issued a statement that they were worried about the Senate banning them, so they cut production. Still, a quarter mil?! :D

Bud's is still selling guns. They are also auctioning guns. Given the backlash of gunowners saying disparaging things against gun shops for raised prices, claims of boycotts, and other things, auctioning seems like the best of all worlds. Bud's can sell the gun at an inflated price and not be guilty of what is claimed is price gouging when it is the buyer who sets the price. Those people at Bud's are pretty darned smart. They can make excellent profits by selling guns for the prices the buyer wants to pay because it is the buyer that sets the price.

With that said, this auction is a farce. The price is $275001.00 now. I have a feeling a few folks will be kicked off Bud's auction site...because you know they aren't going to pay.

Looking at Bud's auction listings, the items they have for sale are not going for hugely inflated prices.

yeah they were selling on gunbroker, haven't checked but they may still be. It is the proper response during the panic, start auction at your usual price and let the buyers set market value. Cannot fault them for that.

On the other hand, if their auction system they are using now is not a autobid type system I will not be using it. Setting the price to your max bid requires you to sit and camp the auction and that isn't a game I want to play.

Only saw one at a gun show a year back - the MRSP was 800.00 and this putz was asking 2000.00 [ yes two thousand ] for this hunk of plastic.

I saw 2, for 15 and 18 hundred at a local gun show, I just laughed.
