Hi, yall. I have a Keltec p32, and I had it out at the range last week. Previously, I have shot it maybe 30 rounds at a time, and from time to time had failures to eject with S&B ammo. I decided to put it to a good test, so I brought some S&B fmj, fiocchi fmj, fiocchi jhp, win fmj, and win silvertip. When clean, it shot fine with all. When I got it dirty, after about 5 magazines, only wiping off the feed ramp after every magazine, it started to fail to eject one or two shells every magazine with the S&B and Fiocchi fmj. It continued to reliably feed the Win fmj, silvertip, and Fiocchi jhp even when dirty and hot. I noticed that the ogive of the Win fmj, silvertip, and Fiocchi jhp is pointier than the S&B and Fiocchi fmj, which makes me think this is why they fed better. Any commments or common experiences? One other thing, I notice that the black anodizing is wearing a bit off the top of the slide rails, as a result of shooting. Will this cause problems?
Thanks and good shooting, yall!

The shape of the bullet won't effect the ejection of fired shells.

The wear you mention is normal.

I've gone over 200rnds without any function problems with my P32. Your ejector might be slightly damaged though. The only consistent ejection/extraction problems I've had has been with Aguila's 32acp ammo. The extractor groove is too small for the P32 to get a good grip on. I also have problems with Remington brass extracting when working up hot handloads. I had a minor problem with Magtech's ammo not extracting 100% (5rnds out of 150rnds).

My first suspect would be the extractor. Kel-Tec will gladly replace it. They'll probably ship you a new one if you want to do it yourself.

Man, I call that MAJOR

You must run about 200 rounds thru it before you can even begin to talk about reliability.
THEN, contact Keltec with any issues.

I see where you and me both posted at the same time, noname.
Try Silvertips. It is the only ammo that mine will work with 100%.
Don't know why. Quite expensive but, they work. I have done the "fluff and buff" stuff that Keltec describes in their web sites.
When I switch back to ammo other than Silvertips, it chokes about 1 round in 50 which is totally unacceptable for defense purposes.

Do the fluff and buff thing as described on

One of the moderators at the ktog NG has a good website on KT guns. You can go here for his page on diagnosing extraction and ejection problems.

Bainx or anyone else that has a P32: If you are going to use Silvertips or any other hollow point in a P32 you better get a magazine spacer from KelTec or make a flywire spacer for your magazine, because sooner or later you will have a rimlock with hollow point ammo in the P32. Here is a link about rimlock problems in the P32.

Except for the problems I had with Magtech and Aguila, the gun has been 100% reliable.

I have well over 1000 rounds through it now. 150 were Magtech, 100 were Aguila. That means 750+ rounds have functioned properly. That includes Dynamit Nobel, S&B, Fiocchi, Winchester, Speer, Federal, Hornady, etc.

I never did the fluff and buff.
