Interesting. I have more than a passing interest in the underlying philosophy, and I can see how it might apply.
When I was working through my flinch, I realized that it wasn't so much my technique that was the issue, but it was things like irrational (internalized) fears and misunderstanding. As I got more comfortable shooting, I let go of those things, and the flinch went away. It was definitely a Zen (or Tao) thing.
Also, if you think about it, focusing on the front sight is a lot like mindfulness meditation practice, where you pick something like the breath to focus upon.
