NEW PRODUCT - The Ken Onion "Vapor" and "Vapor II"
WILSONVILLE, OR - Kershaw Knives has introduced two new Ken Onion knives designed to compete in the value-priced knife market.
The new knives are the Vapor (Model 1640) and the Vapor II (Model 1650). Both have a sleek, high-tech look and a super-smooth feel. The Vapor is retail priced at $34.95 and the larger Vapor II retails for $39.95.
While the new knives do not feature the Speed-Safe assisted-opening mechanism, they are sure to please customers with their butter-smooth, one-handed opening ability. The blade glides easily out of the handle as the user pushes on the unique, conical-stepped thumbstud and rotates the blade into position. When the blade is open a portion of the bottom handle slips behind the blade to lock it in place.
The new Kershaw Ken Onion Vapor models feature quality 410 steel handles, decoratively drilled for an industrial-tech look. The Vapor's unusual open handle construction enhances its strong, yet airy, design. The blade is made of premium AUS 6A stainless steel. For extra strength and durability, the blade is flat ground to Kershaw's famous, "shaving sharp" edge.
"With these new Kershaw Ken Onion models, we are answering the needs of our market for a Kershaw-quality knife with a value price," said Doug Flagg, Sales & Marketing Manager of Kershaw Knives, Ltd. "The knife's handsome Ken Onion design should make it very attractive to our customers as an everyday carrying knife with flair."
The two Vapor models boast top-quality construction. They are manufactured in China under the strict management of Kershaw's parent company, the Japan-based KAI Group-one of the world's leading blade manufacturers. As with all Kershaw products, the two new models are built to maintain Kershaw's worldwide reputation for quality and innovation. The company prides itself on using the highest quality materials and state-of-the-art techniques to produce knives and other cutting tools that are prized throughout the world.
Kershaw's NEW Vapor and Vapor II are available now. Both models will come complete with a matching belt clip and are attractively packaged.

I'd just purchased one of these Kershaw's 1650ST,but it has a blade like the 2nd gif picture.
I couldnt make up my mind at first, between Gerber & Kershaw, but after doing side by side evaluation, I had to go with the one that seem to be more impressive in fit and function.
Anyone here owns a Kershaw?
