We had our night kid quit at work so the boss and I are splitting the shift. Last night I got home about midnight, my truck is not quiet and both the dog and cat know the sound distinctly, but either he thought something was a miss because it was so late or for some reason didnt hear it and heard me kicking the snow off my shoes or my keys. Well I open the door and walk in, I had my head down and my collar "popped" because it was snowing and my 14 month old black lab is about 10 feet from the door hunched down, fur up and growling. I stepped back behind the door a little and said his name and he acknowledged it was me. But WOW, talk about scary. He is the most friendly dog and that was the first time I have ever heard him growl, except when he's playing around. So even my goofy, sissy, dopey black lab gets riled.
